BC Trails Day is back!

BC Trails Day is back on June 4, 2022, and we hope you will join us.

As part of the international celebration of Trails Day around the world, BC Trails Day is about celebrating and caring for BC’s extraordinary trail system, educating about responsible recreation and environmental stewardship, and helping British Columbians enjoy trails and outdoor spaces even more.

Event registration is now open - and it's completely free!

BC Trails Day is a chance to celebrate all the benefits trails bring to us and our communities. It's also a great way to:

  • Show some love for your favourite trails and recreation areas after they've seen an influx in visitors over the last few years.

  • Introduce new people or under-represented groups to the outdoors and encourage them to try activities such as orienteering, paddleboarding, ATVing, trail running, horseback riding, biking and more

  • Promote your organization to your local community and recruit new members or volunteers to complete a trail maintenance project or other projects

Any recreational trail or outdoor education activity can qualify as a BC Trails Day event. Here are some ideas:

  • Trail or park clean-ups and improvements

  • Educational events that promote Leave No Trace or Tread Lightly principles

  • Activities that engage youth in recreation activities or stewardship

  • Guided activities for new trail users

  • Group hikes, paddles or rides

  • Bird or wildlife watching trips

  • Virtual events, such as a presentation or workshop.
