The Vanderhoof Rivers Day Celebration will take place on Sunday, September 22, 2024, from 9:30 am to 3 pm. This celebration of our waterways is a joint venture between the District of Vanderhoof, New Caledonia Paddlers Club and the Nechako Valley Historical Society, to show appreciation for our waterways and their vital importance. It will occur in conjunction with other similar events across the province with a focus of responsible enjoyment and stewardship of these delicate ecosystems.
This event is free and open to the public.
The celebration event will include a paddle trip down the scenic Nechako River, a free BBQ for attendees, and speeches, comments and idea sharing regarding the importance of protection and conservation of waterways. The event will take place at the Vanderhoof Tourism & Cultural Centre (VTCC).
