The demand for advocacy, education programs and capacity building within the public outdoor recreation sector is growing, and we are looking for a fabulous person with a knack for fundraising to join our team for the next six months, perhaps longer.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and innovative fundraising or marketing professional who loves the outdoors to help the ORCBC develop its fundraising and membership program.

While we would love for you to live in Revelstoke, this part-time contract position can be based anywhere in BC.

Responsibilities:

  • Help develop sponsorship materials, undertake prospect research, and update fundraising database.

  • Grow membership, including launching a new community membership category (non-voting) for organizations and businesses that support our mandate but don’t meet the regular membership requirements.

  • Develop and steward our annual giving program (create campaigns, communicate with and thank donors, update database).

  • Research grants and other fundraising opportunities.

  • Coordinate annual membership invoices to members and update contact systems.

  • Perform other tasks and duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • University degree or college diploma, with preference given to candidates who have completed coursework in fundraising, marketing, communications, business administration or similar programs or possess relevant work or volunteer experience.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, fluent in spoken and written English

  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills with keen attention to detail

  • Ability to problem solve and suggest workable solutions

  • Interest in and knowledge of the outdoor recreation sector is considered an asset.
