More people are recreating outdoors than ever before. Biodiversity is under threat. Habitat loss continues. And climate change poses an existential threat. As highlighted in the Outdoor Recreation Council of BC’s new Stewardship Inspiration Guide, outdoor recreation groups can play an important role in repairing, enhancing and protecting the province’s outdoor spaces. But for volunteers and not-for-profit organizations, carrying out a meaningful and impactful project can be daunting.
In a virtual discussion hosted by the Outdoor Recreation Council of BC, a panel of experts will show that stewardship is doable for any group. The webinar will define stewardship, show the value of projects for the public and the people doing the good work, help groups identify projects that fit with their expertise and highlight the support and funding that’s out there.
The panellists are:
Kim Reeves, President, 4 Wheel Drive Association of BC
Jacquie Rasmussen, Executive Director, Lillooet Regional Invasive Species Society
Robyn Hutchings, Stewardship Coordinator, BC Marine Trails
Kevin Eskelin, Regional Recreation Manager, Southern Interior East Region for Recreation Sites and Trails BC
The webinar will begin with presentations from each panelist, followed by a live Q&A session with opportunities to ask questions.
The Outdoor Recreation Council of BC is a non-profit organization. These webinars are free, thanks to the support of our generous donors and sponsors. If you would like to support our work, consider donating or get in touch about sponsorship opportunities.
